This post is not about making money online or offline. Its about losing money offline and how I think I might have lost my money along with lot others in India who tried to use a non ICICI debit card in an ICICI ATM machines today.

I am not sure how many of you know but you can use your bank debit card in any ATM provided its a VISA or Mater Card etc. The ATM machine should allow these and you can use your card regardless of what bank it is. I always use my HDFC bank debit card to withdraw money from ICICI ATMs? Why would I do this? Because ICICI ATMs are almost everywhere, there is one just next to my house. HDFC does charge me a small amount for this but that amount gets credited back after a few days.

Coming back to the problem that happened today. I tried to withdraw Rs 12,000 from this ICICI ATM using my HDFC card and it said the transaction has been declined. I tried once again and same thing, transcation declined. I left the ATM and went back home. After a couple of hours I got an SMS saying that Rs 12,000 have been debited from my HDFC account. I checked my account immediately using netbanking and indeed the money is gone. I got this message 3 hours after visiting the ATM. I immediately checked my wallet and my card is still in there. I cannot call HDFC call center as they work only from 8AM to 8PM (One of Indias biggest banks and no 24/7 helpline. #@$#@$!$F#G). I called up ICICI and this lady called Manisha tells me that this is happening everywhere in India where people have tried to use ICICI ATMs with non ICICI debit cards. WOW! so its a known problem and not a theft or something. I ask Manisha if my money will be credited back, to which she says we CANNOT assure you that. Lol! She has agreed to the fact that this is a problem from ICICI but she CANNOT assure if I will get my money back. She said I need to contact HDFC. So I have to wait till tommorow to contact these guys.

I have worked in banking IT department myself and issues do come but not something weird like this. I hope tommorow when I call HDFC in the morning, they shouldn’t say its ICICI’s mistake go talk to them. On a positive note, I am expecting one more debit of Rs 12,000 from my account (remember I tried twice) and a two times credit back of Rs 12,000 each. People who have not subscribed to SMS alerts and/or do not use netbanking are going to get shock of their lives when they see their account balance later. This is really bad because lot of cheques might get dishonoured due to insufficient cash balance and I am sure there are many such cases that happened today. Last and the first day of any month are the days when ATM machines are used the most as these are paydays for most of them. I have come across many people who spend most of their time online but are not able to make much money. They have access to best forums and tools but still are not able to make much from them. On the other hand there are people who spend 8 hours on their computer, spend time with family and friends while they make much more money. Take a look at your hard drive and see how much junk you have in there. The question is have you really followed anyone of them religiously?

People tend to try too many things together and end up getting nowhere. This way you become jack of all trades and master of none. During this course you actually forget the kind of gold mine you already have. There are people who are making money online by religiously following one direction. I would say making money online cannot get easier than this. This method does not involve any kind of expense, yes that is true. You do not need a website nor do you need to spend a single cent on any PPC programs to make money online using this method. Lot of money making methods will involve at least having a website or spending money on PPC programs to make money from CPA affiliates but this method truly is amazing and will make you money for sure.

How do you make money using this method?

You make money by doing nothing but providing free content to people. Yes, all you have to do is encourage people to download a free paper or a magazine and you will be paid. As the post suggests, I am explaining here on how to make money online by JUST setting up you website. It will take you only an hour to start your auto money making website. You need not be a coder or designer to do this. I am not going to write about spending money on PPC or content writing. It’s just plain, simple and any newbie can do it. This won’t make you rich overnight nor will it make HUGE income at the beginning. This is something for lazy people like me who don’t want to work less and make money

This method involves earning money from PPC and Affiliate programs. Depending on your niche you can choose what PPC programs to use and here are my suggestions:

   1. For non adult websites – Google AdSense + eBay Publisher Network.
   2. For adult websites – Black Label Ads + Fling.

The Method:

All you need is the latest version of wordpress on your site. Just upload the entire wordpress in root. Now we need to generate some content. Remember this is an Auto Pilot way which means you need not update the site manually. You can use wp-o-matic which is free of cost or something like rss2blog to keep your blog updated automatically everyday.

Secondly, we need to create a videos section. I would recommend you to go for something like http://videoscript.us/. This script will cost you $97 but do wonders as you will be able to use it on multiple sites. For those who cannot afford the script, they can choose to upload another instance of wordpress in a folder called "videos" and embed youtube videos in it. Adding 10 Videos a week can work pretty good. If you are using any script, just make sure that you remove the search option. Any user can search for an adult video which can be risky for your AdSense account. More details on this can be found on my post here. You need not worry about this if you DONOT use AdSense on your website.

Thirdly, all we have to do is display eBay ads. I have explained on how to do this in a post  You may follow it to get relevant eBay ads for your site. For those who want to invest money can go for something like BANS of PHPBAY. If you are using BANS (most recommended) just ensure that you upload it in a new folder called "store" or something similar of your choice. Similarly links, widgets and banners for any other affiliate programs like Amazon, ClickBank or CJ can be used.

So we have our website ready which is self updated with the display of rss articles on blog, dynamic videos and dynamic eBay ads. Your website will be 100% dynamic and will keep on changing which will attract lot of SERPS. Of course, you need to make it popular by using back links, forums, etc. More popularity = More Traffic= More Money!!!

Personal Tips: Go for a non-adult niche like a music artist or celebrity. You will be able to find good amount of rss articles on celebrities. Secondly, people will search for videos of the celebrity and land up on your site. Thirdly, lot of people who want to buy stuff related to that celebrity (t-shirts, tattoos, mugs) will buy things from your store to make you more money. Make around 10 such sites on different celebrities, sit back and relax. Your money will flow in automatically while you can spend your quality time on other things.

This is a very simple yet effective method to make money using the CPA offers and YouTube. I am sure lot of my readers know what YouTube is. CPA offers are Cost Per Action offers. This means a user will have to enter his zip code or fill a small form and submit. You get paid when each user does this. Lot of CPA offers are restricted to people in the US so targetting them would be a great idea.

The Idea:

1. Look for a nice CPA offer like get a FREE iPOD. You may look for good CPA programs at Rocket Profit or ClickBank.

2. Make a decent landing page which gives you all benefits of the iPOD. Use nice pictures and make sure that the user can   either just close the page of fill the form.

3. Goto Youtube and search for the product you are promoting (iPOD in our case). Download the video and save its as mpg.

4. At the end of the video, add your own URL which leads to the CPA landing page. Use something like "Visit this URL to win this gorgeous iPod for FREE". This can be done using camtasia.

5. Upload the video on YouTube, sit back, relax and let the money flow in.

As we know, most of the users are in a state of shock when they are banned by AdSense. We all know that Google will not tell you the exact reason for getting banned. I have come across one of the most common reasons where users are getting banned heavily nowadays.

As the title of the post suggests, it would be very dangerous to let your visitors choose what they wanna see. This is quiet common to free file/image hosting sites and video sites. Image hosting sites can be a real pain if you are planning to show AdSense on it. Showing AdSense means no nudity. This means you need to ensure that none of your visitors are uploading any kind of nude or questionable images. Any user can upload the image and report you immediately; you need to ensure that the image is removed ASAP before someone from AdSense has a look at it. A report will obviously raise a red flag and no matter how quick you are in removing the image, lot of such red flags will get you banned or warned quickly. 

Another quiet common mistake that lot of webmasters do is allow visitors to search for videos online and display them on your website. A user can easily search for a video which has pornographic material and report the link. This means that your website is displaying adult content and will get banned very quickly.

This means that whatever content you have on your website, just ensure that its your content and not something that can be shown at users will.

As the title reads, selling things directly and making money online can be a good idea rather than selling someone elses products and earning commissions out of it. Lot of people have started selling CDs and DVDs on eBay after eBay said NO to digital products. Many eBay sellers are making much more selling eBooks on CDs as compared to what they were making selling just the eBooks. Selling directly means you keep the 100% profit and you need not share a cent with anyone. Sounds good but it might not be that easy at it seems to be.

Selling things directly to end users means first you need to have something to sell. Once you have "something" to sell, you need to have the right price for it. You cannot afford to sell something for $100 when the world is selling it for $10. You need to do lot of research on how similar products are sold and at what rate. Still its not that easy. Once you have a product and a reasonable price, you need to convince the end user to buy it. Now many would say that same has to be done for selling other’s products as well but this is a bit different and tough. This means you need to to do a lot of background work on your product.

The last thing you would be doing here is taking care of the refund. You will have to refund if a customer asks for which will waste more time and energy. Selling your own product would be a good idea but then it takes lot of pains. You end up getting good money though.

Recently, I have been changing servers like mad. Lot of hosts promise a 99.9% server uptime but they really don’t do so. It is very difficult for anyone to know whether the site is up or not. Most of the times its a local ISP issue where the DNS fails to resolve the hostname. Lot of people have complained about my websites being down. On contacting the hosting providers, I get an answer saying the server is up and the next time I check it, its really up.
